Reflecting Fire
The topic of overpopulation first caught my attention when I came across with the website www.worldometers.info. I was astounded by the overwhelming amount of people living on this planet over 7 billion. As a result, I became interested in the issue of overpopulation to see the type of problems that came with it. I have worked on the project for over 20 hours or so which the process of making it was very strenuous. Finding resources was hard, citing the resources then alphabetizing them, almost everything. I am not a very good time manager since I have completely ignored other final projects to complete it. I have lost days of sleep trying to complete the fire project.
My biggest stretch was accepting family planning to be my solution. What I would like my audiences to know from the fire project is to be aware of the problem and change their minds in having a family. Overall, I want my audiences to understand that having smaller families will benefit not only the earth, but future generations to come. I would provide myself with a “C” because I haven’t found all the resources some sections needed in the fire project. I am not sure if I have even gained any skills since all I learned was how to cite certain articles on the internet. I still need to work on my time management skills in order to complete assignments. What I am most proud of about the completing the fire project was finishing the fire project on time; however, if I had more time in the school year, the fire project could have gone better. The difficulty I have had while working on the fire project was staying awake in working on it which I have overcame this by having power naps which helped a little.
Scholarly articles helped somewhat less due to the complex language encountered and how some of the articles were irrelevant to my subject of interest. My only advice to future fire projecteers is to choose a much easier topic, manage your time efficiently, and don’t try to cover everything that is connected with the project you chose because it will consume you.
